Hey you!!!! I am so happy you are here!! A little bit about me and how VinylGecko was created. My Name is Ashley, not Ash, not Ashy, just Ashley. I tend to go by GECKO more often than not! I am a small town girl and have been all my life. I am born and raised in the bluegrass of Kentucky. My husband of almost 10 years is from Ohio, but we won’t judge him for that. :)

Together we created the most perfect little girl we could have imagined. She is 10 going on 37, and is and always will be an only child. What can I say we got it perfect on the first try!!! :) A couple of years ago I was working a very stressful job and found that one of the best forms of stress relief for me was being creative. It started with creating things for our home and a few friends, and like many others grew during Quarantine to a small business. I truly love creating items and bringing visions to life. I will attempt almost any design you have in mind and if you allow me to, put my little twist on it. I never dreamed I would be to a point where I would be a small business owner, but here we are and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. My biggest passion behind this small business is making sure that Little Gecko's college is paid for so that she can start her life without worrying about student loans and having debt when she graduates!!!

So Ashley, how did you come up with the name VinylGecko? Well it’s a rather simple story to be honest. I wanted the name to represent me and also be entirely separate at the same time. Being a resin artist I work with Vinyl quite a bit, and Geckos and reptiles are some of my favorite animals. I didn’t want to use a reptile that was scary or intimidating, so I went with a cute little gecko!!!!! A few facts about Geckos that I resonate with:

Most Geckos can detach their tails and regrow them. 

• I strive to be rather resilient. I have had some struggle in my life much like some of you, and I have chosen to take those struggles and use them to build skills and personality traits to better my life instead of letting them tear me down. 

Geckos are masters of color!!!

• Most people think that only chameleons can change color but that isn’t true. Geckos can too!! As a resin artist I believe I have quite the skill in producing unique and wild color pallettes for my customers!!!

Geckos are strictly nocturnal

I am truly a night owl and would not make it through my adult job without coffee, but I could stay up all hours of the night creating or reading!!! 

• Last but certainly not least: Geckos represent rebirth and life cycles, the circling of energy. They also symbolize there is always hope for rebuilding our own lives. Geckos symbolize energy and magic of the nature and the life in their purest form.
• Inspiring right? With everything I have been through in my life I feel I have been reborn many times. I also strongly believe in growth, healing, and rebuilding. With that comes the responsibility of protectingly energy. Throughout our working relationship together you will find that I am fiercely loyal and protective, and I hope these are seen as positive qualities just as I see them.
